Abstract: The problem of forming technical culture of high school students is discussed. The content of curricula and educational standards of different generations is analyzed in a problem context. Methods of developing technical knowledge and abilities by pupils, models of studying technical questions in a physics course are also considered. The characteristic of meta-technical knowledge system as base element of students technical culture is given. Necessity and means of forming meta-technical knowledge during a process of teaching physics are proved and discussed.
