The First Dissertation Council of Ural State Pedagogical University: 20 Years Later

Abstract: This article refers to the formation and development of the first dissertation council in Ural State Pedagogical University. During the 20 years of its existence 274 theses were defended here. Permanent president of the board was Honored Scientist of Russia, Doctor of Pedagogy, Professor A.S. Belkin. The leading idea was integration of pedagogical theory and practice. In the theory of Pedagogy numerous scientific and educational concepts were introduced. The first dissertation council was the foundation of seven Councils for Pedagogy, Philology, Psychology and other disciplines.
