Abstract: Detailed analysis of the causes of pedagogical education problems is given. On the example of the Ural State Pedagogical University the authors discuss the peculiarities of the status of pedagogical university and the directions of its influence on different socio-cultural spheres of the region as a key university of the educational cluster.
