Abstract: The article deals with the questions of organization and development of women’s education in Northern Ossetia and the participation of the Ossetian enlighteners in involving the women living in the mountains in getting knowledge. It studies the peculiarities of the process of creation of the network of schools for women. Special attention is paid to the study of the role of Vladikavkaz Eparchy and its pastors’ role in creation of conditions for the opening of secular and ecclesiastical schools for the Ossetian women.
