Abstract: The article focuses on the policy of the Russian Federation in the sphere of international cultural and humanitarian cooperation with foreign partners in the question of promotion of the Russian language abroad. The article underlines that it is necessary to stimulate Russia’s introduction into the international educational space, to promote Russian education, to attract foreign students to Russian educational establishments, to enhance the reputation of Russian education and to emphasize the advantages of studying in Russia. These goals could be reached with the help of project activity, which is one of the universal ways to influence the younger generation and thus it could be used to promote the Russian language among young people. The projects “In Russian about Russia”, “Intercultural Dialogue”, “Poland and Russia: Dialogue between Generations” show the model of international network cooperation to promote the Russian language and culture abroad and to stimulate civic engagement in the area of social diplomacy. Such projects help to reach the main goals of the Concept of Foreign Policy of Russia in development of good relations with the neighboring countries, development of cooperation and partnership.
