Abstract: The article discusses problems connected with lessons of home reading in Primary School, aims and tasks are set, content and methodical principles of the author programme on home reading «Penetrating Reading» designed for pupils of the 2nd-4th form are presented, a special attention is paid to Workbooks on Home Reading, which are in the teaching and methodical complex of the author programme, their main tasks and methodical ideas are characterized and aimed at forming readers’ culture and readers’ skills of junior schoolchildren.
