Abstract: Content of the principle of historism in the pedagogical science is considered and its characteristics are discussed. The content and methods of teaching the history of science (in terms of the school course in physics) is analyzed. The didactic models of realizing the principle of historism are presented. The characteristic of acquisition levels of materials of historical science by students is given. The content of renewed practice of teaching schoolchildren the history of science on the basis of profiling informatization education are considered.
