Abstract: The status and development problems of the formation of personal competitiveness of the future teacher are shown: the analysis of the fundamental concepts of research — competition, competitiveness is given; different points of view of domestic and foreign scientists to the problem under study are presented; government requirements in preparing a modern teacher are identified.
