Abstract: This paper discusses the prospects of social typology as a methodological innovation set in the context of the competence model of education. Emphasis is placed on the need to mainstream the youth set of key competencies, the potential of socio-typological approach to achieve this aim is demonstrated, based on the positive experience of subcultural communities.
