Abstract: The article is devoted to the problem of liquidation of children’s homelessness and neglect in the Soviet Russia of 1941—1945. The author considers measures taken by the Government concerning placement of children who lost their parents, the state of orphanages in the Ural region and reveals the problems of the latter. The research is based on the materials many of which are used in the academic discourse for the first time.
