Abstract: The analysis of the views of teachers and students on a higher education institution on profession of a teacher is carried out. Defined are: a general view on prestigiousness of a profession, on problems of the higher education, on desires of teachers to develop according to society requirements etc. On the basis of the poll of students the contradiction between views of teachers and students of real professional and personal qualities of teachers of higher education institution comes to light. The analysis is carried out on the basis of researches held in 2006 and 2012.
