Abstract: The article reveals the peculiarities of familiarization with the musical culture of the Urals and Orenburg Cossacks by Cossack cadets, which is implemented through the development of musical consciousness, ethno-intonational hearing, through musical activity as the «instrument» of individual assimilation of the culture and society by a person.
