The History of Popular Readings as One of the First Forms of Out-of-School Education in Pre-revolutionary Bashkiria

Abstract: The article deals with the history and development of popular readings, which were the most spectacular and mass events in popular education. Special attention is paid to the historical and sociocultural factors influencing the goals, tasks, content and principles of organization of popular readings and other similar types of out-of-school education.
