Abstract: The article under consideration deals with the results of three pioneering investigations conducted by the author with the help of experience sampling methods (ESM). The main concepts associated with happiness and subjective well-being in the theories of modern positive psychology were studied. Correlation and factor analyses gave an opportunity to outline three main characteristics which mostly correspond to the ―happiness‖ concept: ―engagement‖ (―involvement‖), ―egoism‖ and ―meaning‖. The results obtained provide further progress in understanding of happy life and its achievement.
