Abstract: The article discusses competence (cultural and professional), psychological qualities and evaluative foundations as the components of professional readiness which affect professional fulfillment of social educators. Particular attention is devoted in this context to professional consciousness. At the same time the article stresses the necessity of its purposeful formation in the training of social educators.
