Abstract: The paper analyzes the characteristics of the mother’s image representation in Russian mentality in different historical periods. It describes the results that reveal the content of the mother’s image representation models in Russia at the current stage. Proceeding from the theoretical analysis and experimental verification of the hypothesis, the author argues that the dynamics of the mother’s image formation in Russian mentality is ambiguous. Its diversity is determined by cultural and historical content, by introduction of global socio-political and socio-cultural processes as well as the reflection degree and the nature of the acquisition of motherhood value in the Russians outlook.
