Abstract: The article reviews publications devoted to the study of the structure and content of intercultural communicative competence. The author analyzes the components of the given competence in the framework of conceptual models in socio-psychological, communicative, pedagogical and linguistic research. Among socio-pedagogical and communicative publications, structural models of intercultural communicative competence are analyzed. Such models represent lists of qualities which are productive in competent intercultural interaction. Within pedagogical and linguistic research, the article highlights M. Byram’s intercultural communicative competence model, as well as the INCA project model. A brief review of intercultural communicative competence models in international business and management is also provided. Conclusions about the advantages and disadvantages of each approach to the interpretation of the structure and content of intercultural communicative competence with respect to assessment of this competence in academic and professional contexts are made. The article discusses opportunities for further research regarding the unification of different scientific approaches to the components of intercultural communicative competence and its methods typology of actions and skills.
