Abstract: The article deals with various aspects of suggestion, correlation of suggestion with imitation, conviction and conformism. It provides different points of view upon the possibility of using the phenomenon of suggestion in the pedagogical process. The author argues that there is not enough theoretical knowledge about the physiological mechanisms of suggestion and redundancy of qualities that, according to the authors, contribute to effective suggestion. However, this set of qualities and symptom-complexes is often speculative and not supported by experiment. The author analyzes the correlation ratio of suggestibility of a person, diagnosed by different methods, with indicators of the interaction of the signaling systems of reality, specifically human types of higher nervous activity and electroencephalographic indicator properties of the nervous system. The study is conducted with the help of special research methods. The experimental data allow for new insights into the mechanisms of suggestion and their effective use in the education process.
Key words: Education process; suggestibility; the first and second signaling systems; EEG indicators of the nervous system properties.
