Abstract: The purpose of the present article is to identify the main trends in the prevalence of types of relationships and strategies for interaction of the youth and the urban environment (for example, Ekaterinburg). The following methods were used: theoretical, factorial, correlation analysis, as well as a survey of young people in the megalopolis (of 17-25 ages, n = 1200) using a scale of identification with the city of M. Lalli and subjective methods of assessment of the feasibility of the basic values of S.A. Bogomaz. The main result of the study is the description of features of the value-oriented relation of today's young people to the city environment and opportunities to meet it in the basic (significant) values. It is found that the majority of respondents hold a subjective position in relation to the urban environment. The study also reveals negative environmental characteristics which, if accompanied by an increase in frustrating situations preventing to achieve significant goals, can lead to disappointment in the possibilities of the megalopolis and the development of young people's lack of initiative. The factoring of the subjective assessment of the feasibility of the basic values in an urban environment identifies the following three types of relationships of young people with the urban environment, describing the specifics of the interaction with it. So, 10.8% of the respondents belong to the subject-uniting type. It is characterized by the inclusion of an active person as a subject in environmental processes and awareness of its role in his personal development. 18.3% of the respondents possess the subject- isolating type. The reaction in this case proceeds in portions and is non-dialogical. About 6.8% of the respondents found the subject-object type of relationship with the urban environment, manifested through its consideration as a set of resources and denial of its role in the development of the young person. The results of the study of the major trends in the prevalence of types of relationships and strategies for interaction of the youth with the urban environment, can be used for the implementation of administrative functions for the development of human capital of the megalopolis, and for creation of conditions for increasing the effectiveness of the measures in the framework of the Strategic Plan of Ekaterinburg.
Key words: Interaction strategies; young people; urban environment; behavior in conditions of a megalopolis.
