Abstract: The article reviews publications devoted to the study of the structure and content of intercultural communicative competence and analyzes conceptual models of intercultural communicative competence within social, psychological, communicative, pedagogical and linguistic research. The author studies structural models of intercultural communicative competence in socio-psychological and communicative publications. Such models represent lists of qualities which are productive in competent intercultural interaction. M. Byram’s intercultural communicative competence model and the INCA project model are considered in the framework of pedagogical and linguistic research. The article also provides a brief review of intercultural communicative competence models in the field of international business and management. The author makes conclusions about the advantages and disadvantages of each approach to the interpretation of the structure and content of intercultural communicative competences with respect to the assessment of this competence in academic and professional contexts. The article discusses the opportunities for further research regarding unification of different scientific approaches to the study of the components of intercultural communicative competence as well as methodological typology of its skills and habits.
