Project Approach in Patriotic Education of the Youth (On the Example of the Patriotic Project “Living History”)

Abstract: The article describes the need and the importance of purposeful patriotic education, considers the use of the project approach in patriotic education, substantiates the constructive and creative role of patriotism in the life of society and discloses the essence of project activity. Besides, the article provides the examples of implementation of all-Russian patriotic projects. Special attention is paid to the innovative student's project “Living History” which follows a standard structure (motive – problem – purpose – tasks – methods and ways – plan – actions – result – reflection) and stages of realization and a technological chain of application of the project approach (problem – search – design – product – presentation). The article also describes the content of the project (creation of video films about the participation of the Urals residents in key events of the Great Patriotic War, creation of an innovative resource site and conduct of on-line All-Russian patriotic competitions, publication of on-line and printed materials with methods recommendations for teachers and organizers of educational work, creation of films, producing of video presentations, conduct of on-line seminars, round tables and conferences for training organizers of patriotic education of the youth in the educational organizations of the country) and its achievements.
