Personalization of Virtual Education Environment

Abstract: The solution of the fundamental task of development of the personal potential of every participant of the pedagogical process demands acknowledgement of man as the main value and addressee of the state education system and self-realization of every person in relation to oneself and the surrounding world as the main goal of education. In the context of emerging trends of transformation of the information society into the learning society, the article considers the general prerequisites for the transition from the unified and egalitarian nature of traditional standardized education systems towards individualization, personification and personalization of education. The article argues that it is necessary to design personal learning and teaching environments based on the cloud educational tools and services. It demonstrates new professional teachers’ functions in personal knowledge management and Internet content monitoring for educational purposes. The combination of the roles of provider and consumer of educational services in the virtual education environment raises the teacher’s competitiveness.
