Abstract: The article analyzes the experience and describes the approach to using podcasting technology as a means of activization of learning activities of students in teaching computer networks. The article examines the influence of modern telecommunications services, including podcasting technology, to activate educational activity of students due to the emergence of new opportunities, giving a chance of using active and interactive forms of conducting classes. The article defines podcasting technology in the learning process and analyzes domestic and foreign experience of application of podcasting technology in education. The author formulates the main goals of application of podcasting technology in education, gives examples of the use of podcasts for all participants in the education process and describes a series of steps to be observed while creating a podcast. Various sets of hardware and software are suggested, the use of which is necessary for work with audio and video information to create a podcast. The article argues that it is desirable to use podcasting technology as a means of activization of learning activity of students in teaching computer networks. Based on the information-technological models of learning, the author puts forward a system of didactic principles, with which podcasting technology should comply, and methods and techniques of its application in teaching computer networks.
