Abstract: The article analyzes the features of interpersonal relationships, communication and communicative sphere of boarding schools pupils. It outlines the main problems that arise in the process of communication between pupils of boarding schools. It also presents the empirical data of experimental research and diagnostic methods of research of specific features of communicative competence and describes a comparative analysis of the diagnostic features of the communicative competence of pupils of boarding schools and pupils of secondary schools. The article stresses the importance of taking into account the revealed features of interpersonal interaction and communication in the organization of the process of formation of communicative competence of pupils of boarding schools. The author describes the basic methods and forms of work for the development of communicative competence of pupils of boarding schools. As long as children living in a boarding school have limited social experience, the main accent in the process of formation of the communicative competence should be laid on their communicative activity: it is necessary to give children a chance to take part in various games and trainings which would model life situations and let the child feel and understand numerous social relations and roles. Thus it is advisable to use active and role games which would allow training solution of problems and conflicts.
