Abstract: The authors discuss an urgent issue of the level of readiness to teaching of the secondary vocational school teachers without pedagogical education. The Professional Standard of “Teacher of vocational and further education” includes four duties. On the basis of the analysis of Professional Standard we singled out 37 parameters , which describe the level of the duties performance. This pedagogical research revealed that the absence of pedagogical education may cause a teacher serious problems. Most of the problems arise because of poor knowledge of modern learning technologies: modular teaching, case-study, problem-based and project technologies. Social partnership in teachers’ work is presented by only two aspects: a teacher has experience of work with social partners and involves social partners in the work on career guidance. The other fields of cooperation with social partners are not developed well enough because of poor qualification of teachers. They include: integration of education and production; realization of business projects; consulting; etc. Based on the analysis of these problems we offer modules of pedagogical retraining of teachers that include the use of modern technologies of learning, case-study, problem-based and project technologies.
Key words: Teachers; secondary vocational education; professional standard; professional competence; pedagogical activity; duties; professional training.
