Information-Communicative Competence as Condition and Aim of Teaching Russian as a Foreign Language

Abstract: The subject of analysis is the information-communicative competence of modern man in intercultural communication context. The topic is information-communicative competence as a condition and the aim of teaching Russian as a foreign language. The purpose of the article consists in determination of the status of the information-communicative competence in the process of teaching Russian as a foreign language; the identification of difficulties encountered in the process of formation of the information-communicative competence; and analysis of the effects of the use of methods of digital education. The main method of the work is experimental study. Distance support for a course of Russian as a foreign language is organized in the framework of cooperation between the Northern (Arctic) University named after M. V. Lomonosov (Russia) and the Russian language Department of Tamkang University (Taiwan). The experiment involves native Russian language speakers enrolled in the master's degree program «Pedagogical Education. Russian as a Foreign Language», and the Chinese language speakers – students studying Russian as a foreign language. The results of the first phase of the experiment include: determination of the position of the information-communicative competence in the framework of the competence approach to education; methodological support for the program of the distance module of a training course of Russian for native Chinese language speakers. The scope of results application covers teaching Russian as a foreign language in a distance learning format. Based on the analysis of intermediate results of the experiment, conclusions are made about the necessity of formation of the information-communicative competence as a condition and aim of language learning.
