Abstract: The article dwells on the nature and structure of art culture of the individual. The purpose of the article is to develop a model of art culture of a junior schoolchild. The topic of the article is connected with the theoretical aspects of the formation of art culture of the person. The methods of this study include analysis, generalization of the material on the use of the potential of art in the formation of the foundations of the art culture of the individual, modeling the process of its formation and development as a value-semantic context of human interaction and culture. The methods of work are based on the activity approach that brings together knowledge, transformation, value orientation, communication and causes the emergence of culture and its transforming effects on humans. As a result of the study the author developed and substantiated the structural model of art culture of the individual, and defined the indicators and criteria of its development. The results may be used in the theory and methods of training and upbringing (general education). The results of practical implementation of the developed model proved its significance for diagnostic studies to determine the level of formation of art culture of junior schoolchildren and outline the main directions of its effective development.
