Abstract: The article dwells on the content of the process of formation of universal learning actions of senior secondary schoolchildren in the subject area of the discipline "Art". The purpose of the article is to reveal ways of formation of universal learning actions of senior secondary schoolchildren at the lessons of World Art and Culture. The topic of the article is connected with theoretical and methodological approaches to the formation of universal learning actions of senior secondary schoolchildren at the lessons of World Art and Culture. Research methods comprise analysis, generalization of material on using the potential of art in the personal development of students. The methods of investigation are based on the style-oriented approach to mastering arts at the lessons of WAC, which opens up possibilities of studying the formation of ULA through specific mechanisms of artistic perception. As a result of their work the authors substantiated the efficiency of reliance on style-oriented approach in the education process, defined teaching methods and forms of organization of lessons of "WAC" aimed at the development of learners' motivation to self-knowledge and self-development in communion with art. The scope of results application covers the theory and methods of teaching and upbringing (art education and aesthetic education). The results of practical testing of designed forms and methods of teaching in the school course of WAC proved their effectiveness in the formation of universal learning actions of senior secondary schoolchildren if they employ the style-oriented approach to mastering arts.
