Abstract: The article deals with the content of the process of formation of family values in junior boarding school children. The purpose of the article is to reveal the possibilities of artistic and aesthetic environment in the formation of family values among pupils of boarding institutions. The article focuses on the potential of a pedagogically organized artistic and aesthetic environment in family education of pupils of boarding schools. The methods of research include analysis, generalization of material on the use of the potential of art in educational work with younger schoolchildren, modeling the organization of the process of artistic and aesthetic environment as a value-semantic context of interaction between adults and children. The methodology of research is based on the environmental approach to the formation of family values among pupils of boarding schools, which allows optimizing the pedagogical potential of art through appeal to the internal potential of pupils in the process of experience and cognizing artistic images – carriers of family values and self-expression in creative art. As a result of their research, the authors determined the forms and methods of educational work by means of art and art-creative activity of students. The obtained results may be used for the development of the theory and methods of training and upbringing (general education). The results of practical implementation of the developed models have shown the importance of pedagogically organized artistic and aesthetic environment in the formation of value-oriented relation to the family and positive models of family relationships at boarding schools.
