Abstract: This is a review of the book “Formation of Readiness of Future Specialists in Higher Educational Institution to Professional Self-realization” (Ural State Pedagogical University, Ekaterinburg, 2016) written by Doctor of Philosophy, Professor, Lecturer of the Institute of Social Education of the Ural State Pedagogical University, V.V. Bayluk. The monograph has two parts. The first part discusses an interesting, well-thought and even innovative concept of professional self-realization, the essence of which is self-knowledge; it also presents the model of formation of readiness and professional self-realization and describes the process of its practical application. The second part of the monograph is also very innovative; it is devoted to the analysis of independent work of students, which is the basis for formation of readiness to professional self-realization. The research of the problem of independent work of students, aimed at the processes of professional self-realization, is unique in its depth and its results. In general the monograph by V.V. Bayluk is a holistic research of one of the most difficult and urgent problems in modern Pedagogy.
