Abstract: The first four parts of the monograph discuss theoretical and methodological issues of the study of formation of the students’ readiness to professional self-realization: the essence of professional self-realization, its value and functions, the essence of professional self-determination of a person and readiness to professional self-realization. Chapters five to fifteen study the educational process in higher school including training of the teaching staff to form the students’ readiness to professional self-realization – the influence of a teacher on students – cooperation of teachers and students – independent work of students (IWS). The monograph is the first attempt to view IWS as a system, which is divided into sub-systems of esoteric types of activity (self-cognition activity, self-managing, self-educational and health-improving) and sub-systems of esoteric types of activity (educational, research, practical and sociocultural). It is proved that self-cognition of a person is an integral factor not only in IWS, but in the educational process in higher school as well, because it ensures conscious activity of both teachers and managers of the higher school.
Key words: Professional self-realization; readiness of students to professional self-realization; the process of formation of students’ readiness to professional self-realization; independent work of students; subjectivity.
