Abstract: Innovations that focus people on new development, improvement of the knowledge, abilities, competences, mastering new kinds of activities in allied industries of economy take root into various fields of activity of the person. The education system has to provide to society sure transition to the digital era focused on growth of productivity, new types of work, and needs of a person. Informatization of education created a base for transition to a new level; digitalization is directed on training of specialists who are guaranteed to be in demand in labor market, who easily and masterfully use mobile and Internet technologies, and who are focused on continuous training (professional development) by means of e-learning. Digital technologies in the modern world are not only the tool but also an environment which opens new opportunities: training at any convenient time, continuous education, opportunity to project individual educational routes, and from consumers of electronic resources to become founders. However the digital environment demands from teachers the other mentality, perception of a worldview, application of different approaches and forms of work with the students. The teacher becomes not only the carrier of knowledge which they share with students, but also the conductor on the digital world. They have to be digitally literate, able to create and apply content by means of digital technologies, including skills of computer programming, search, exchange of information and communication. Within the state program «Development of education» for 2013–2020, the Government of the Russian Federation approved the «Modern Digital Educational Environment» project aimed at creation of conditions for system improvement of quality, and expansion of opportunities of continuous education. The project is realized by creation of digital educational space, availability of online training and is directed on possibility of the organization of the mixed training, formation of individual educational routes of training, self-education, family and informal education.
