Abstract: The article describes principles of organizing lexico-semantic work at school. On the basis of distinction of lexical system of the language and person’s vocabulary and revealed by psycholinguistics vocabulary building and development regularities, associative and linguoculturological principles content, principle of using particular figurative word meaning are defined.
