Abstract: The paper is devoted to the issues of teaching specialized translation, précis and annotation writing to non-linguistic universities students, studying according to the programs «Translator / Interpreter in the sphere of professional communication». The article touches upon linguistic questions of translation / interpreting and teaching languages to optimize the process of training non-linguistic universities students for efficient foreign language professional activity.
