Abstract: The article raises the question of the importance of developing the style literacy in the process of preparing a musician of both performing and teaching profiles. Practical application of methods of the style approach is considered (the method of the historical and style context, the method of auditory examination, the method of comparative style characteristics, statistical method and method of style variation) in piano class.
