Abstract: We discuss the problem of designing learning tasks in geography to organize students’ independent work. The method of designing learning tasks is focused on the gradual movement of students from the empirical to the theoretical level of knowledge. It’s the project and research work-oriented method. The search activity is considered as the key activity within the bounds of the students’ independent work.
