Abstract: The article deals with the essence of the term "humanization of education" and the different points of view on its practical implementation. A systematic approach to the humanization of education as a multidimensional phenomenon is presented. The analysis of the formation of the national humanistic pedagogy in the late XIX - early XX centuries is undertaken.
