Abstract: The study of media images allows us to analyze submitted and introduced into the consciousness of readers' stereotypes, behaviors, imposed social roles. This allows us to regulate society through journalism and largely determine the social portrait of society and man in it. The article examines some media portrait of the teacher, the main components of the typical ideas about it based on the use of official statistics, as well as a poll among pedagogy students and analysis of the local press of a provincial town.
