Abstract: The article dwells on different approaches to the definition of professional competences of a music teacher and on conditions of their formation in the process of higher musical-pedagogical education. The author defines the specific features of the musical-pedagogical activity and brings out the possibilities of the developing psycho-diagnostics in the process of formation professional spiritual competences of a music teacher during his professional education.
