Abstract: Directions of improvement of the automated system of control of knowledge are considered. It is revealed that one of the disadvantages of the automated system of control of knowledge of students in an academic discipline is that the results for automated knowledge control obtained there may differ from those determined by using other methods of knowledge assessment. The causes of this phenomenon are identified. The approach, which can ensure the independence of the results of evaluation of student's knowledge from the method of their control, is reasoned.
