Abstract: The article proves the necessity of development of elderly people’s information competence. The aspects of the concept of «information competence» are revealed with reference to the given category of persons. Basic elements of structure of information competence are described taking into account the aspects of elderly age. The basic didactic principles and results of realization of special educational program for development of elderly people’s information competence are discussed.
