Information Mobility of University Students as a Component of the Quality of Education in the Modern World

Abstract: The article deals with the problem of formation of information mobility of university students as a new integrative quality of the personality of the modern student. The importance of research is caused by dynamic informatization of the modern society in which information is the most important world resource, and the ability to work with information is the most important tool for the development of mankind. The author gives the definition of information mobility of university students, which characterizes the preparation to perception and the active use of information, the speed of adaptation and application of information according to the tasks and is an essential component of the quality of education of the modern student. The article presents a brief description of the component composition and levels of development of information mobility. The author looks at the structure of information mobility of university students as a set of cognitive, operational and value components and singles out basic and professionally-oriented components. The unity and integrity of the components of information mobility serve as criteria for the definition of levels of its formation. In her research, the author identifies three levels of formation of information mobility of university students: passive performing, situation-adaptational and actively creative level. Characteristics of these levels would allow the author to assess the degree of formation of its components during the diagnostics of information mobility at an early stage and to indicate the urgency of the problem.
