Abstract: The article is devoted to the topical for the pedagogical theory and practice problems of training students for professional-pedagogical activity by means of social practice. The aim of the article is to present the results of experimental work on testing the efficiency of realization of the model of training students for professional-pedagogical activity by means of social practice. The author proves the effectiveness of implementation of the model of training students for professional-pedagogical activity by means of social practice based on the developed criteria (social and personal development and a professional criterion) and their indicators. The article specifies the notion of preparation of students to professional and pedagogical activity by singling out its components – the motivation component and the competence component. Particular attention is paid to the procedure of diagnosing indicators of the professional criterion (the factual criterion), as well as comparative assessment of preparation of students to professional-pedagogical activity at the stages of ascertaining and control experiments. The author uses a combination of methods: modeling, observation, surveys, rankings, testing, pedagogical experiment and qualitative and quantitative analysis. The practical significance of the materials of the article may consist in the possibility of introduction of the model of training students for professional-pedagogical activity by means of social practice into the activities of universities and colleges that train teachers. The developed criteria and indicators can be used to assess the level of preparation of students to professional-pedagogical activity.
