Abstract: The article deals with socio- and ethno-specific problems of various types of linguo-cognitive categorization topical for different variants of worldview (scientific, professional and naïve worldviews). It sets up the conception of linguo-cognitive categorization based on distinction of three types: scientific, professional and naïve. The type of linguo-cognitive categorization is defined by the sphere of human knowledge about the world, specificity of the subject and object of cognition, the set of relevant features of categorization and the system of category names. The article also sets the boundaries of influence of the human factor on the process of linguo-cognitive categorization in scientific, professional and naïve worldviews. It also registers the fact of relative independence of scientific categorization of the influence of idio-, socio- and ethno-specific factors. The article defines the ―mediating character‖ of the professional worldview and studies the interrelationship between the professional type of linguo-cognitive categorization and specific conditions and requirements of the professional sphere, which explains the socio-specific character of the given type of linguo-cognitive categorization. Specific features of naïve categorization are described by the material of a questionnaire conducted with the speakers of Russian and Chinese and aimed at the definition of specificity of content and structural organization of the categories of the linguo-mental sub-sphere ―Crops‖ (categories of VEGETABLES, FRUIT, and BERRIES).
Key words: Cognitive linguistics; linguo-culturology; linguo-cognitive categorization; scientific, professional and naïve worldviews; national lingual mentality.
