Abstract: The All-Russian Sports Complex “Ready to Work and Defense” (GTO) was brought back to life in 2014. The problem of organization of promotion of the ARSC GTO and realization of its information policy is a most vital question of its implementation. One of the forms of attraction of broad popular masses to the given process consists in conducting festivals of the All-Russian Sports Complex “Ready to Work and Defense” (GTO) which would include not only the sports component (passing the qualifications of the ARSC GTO), but also facilitate the growing knowledge of the population about the ARSC GTO, ways and methods of healthy lifestyle and include the ARSC GTO in other forms of activity, and, in particular, contribute to the development of creative abilities. The article dwells on the educational program of the first festival of the All-Russian Sports Complex “Ready to Work and Defense” (GTO) among students of education institutions dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War of 1941-1945. The festival was held in Belgorod in august 2015. The program of the festival was worked out by a team of authors from the Institute of Physical Education of the Ural State Pedagogical University. The authors of the article analyze the projects of promotion of the ARSC GTO which have been prepared and presented for the contest by the members of the festival in the framework of the “School of the Young GTO Ambassador”.
