Abstract: The new paradigm of development of Russian education implies a shift from accumulation of large amounts of information for future use to mastering the methods of continuous acquisition of new knowledge. In this concept, the student is considered to be an active self-developing personality with the tendency for transition from convergent thinking and divergent one. The teacher acts as a tutor, as an assistant guide. In the information society, the Internet becomes the main source of information, and the information competence of students turns out to be the basic competence, which includes search, selection and processing of information and is reflected in the ability to build search strategies and algorithms. An important role is played in this new situation by the activity of man as the subject of information activity. This article describes the ways of activization of creative (innovative) thinking in the transition from formal search to semi-formalized and unstructured ones and construction of models of effective behavior of students in the process of search based on the principles of dynamic learning. At the basis of the proposed methodological approach lies the principle of "involving the individual mentally, physically and emotionally," of treating each student individually according to his/her unique life experience and personal goals of educational-professional search.
Key words: Active teaching methods; information search methods; dynamic learning; activization of thinking.
