Abstract: The article deals with the problem of formation of the foundations of universal learning actions in preschool children and defines the notions of "universal learning action" and "foundations of universal learning actions". The aim of the article is to describe the results of research aimed at developing the foundations of universal learning actions in project activities of senior preschool children. The article describes the criteria, indicators and level characteristics of formation of foundations of cognitive, communicative, personal and regulative universal learning actions in senior preschool children. It also presents the results of experimental work on formation of universal learning actions in senior preschool children in project activities. The article use the following methods: analysis of scientific-theoretical, psychological and pedagogical literature on the issue; experimental research work in pre-school educational institutions; observation; study of teachers’ practical experience; thinking over own experience as a senior tutor of a preschool educational institution. The author describes the experience of work in pre-school educational institutions, revealing the conditions of organization of project activities of senior preschool children. Analyzing the obtained results, the author makes a conclusion about the possibility of forming the foundations of universal learning actions at the stage of completion of pre-school education by children as a prerequisite to learning activity.
