Zoonymic Culture Code in the Teaching Chinese Students Russian

Abstract: Communication is possible between different cultures provided we understand national peculiarities of a foreign language, including units of language that verbalize culture code. The article presents the results of researching of zoonymic code functioning in Russian communication on the background of the Chinese cultural linguistics. The goal of the research is to find the complex of symbolic meanings of animals in two languages, and to reveal their similarities and differences. Field research method is used for the analysis of phraseological words and zoonyms realizing zoonymic code. Metaphorical meanings of the names of the animals were divided into lexical-phraseological families of words with the main zoonym being at the top. In this article we discus two families of words: dragon and cow/bull/calf. Secondary meanings of these zoonyms are characterized; the differences and similarities of the symbolic semantics of the words are analyzed. Attention is drawn to the fact that the results of this research have practical significance and can be used in teaching Chinese students Russian. The article presents examples of secondary and metaphorical meanings schemes of zoonyms that should be learned by the Chinese students learning Russian. Schemes are based on the principle of lexical and phraseological family of words, including different metaphorical meanings of the names of animals typical for the Russian culture. The article provides relevant examples of these meanings in the Russian and Chinese languages, if the meanings are similar or coincide. It is supposed to use such schemes in class of Russian as a foreign language.
