Interactive Methods of Teaching Russian as a Foreign Language at a Medical Institution of Higher Education

Abstract: The article deals with the description of interactive methods of teaching Russian as a foreign language at a medical university which would allow one to intensify the learning process and form the students’ skills necessary for communication in different situations. The article has a theoretical-practical character. Its purpose is not only to characterize the main interactive forms of teaching Russian as a foreign language but also to describe examples from the author’s personal experience of teaching. The article analyzes the methods of “brainstorm”, clusters, role-playing games, crossword puzzles, and the “ring” method. Their usage at the lessons raises the quality of teaching, intensifies the process of learning, and improves the motivation to study the subject. The method of “brainstorm”, clusters, role-playing games, and crossword puzzles are used at a certain stage and do not need going back to them in the course of the lesson. It is necessary to note that the “ring” method is absolutely new for the methods of teaching Russian as a foreign language. The whole lesson is built on the basis of this method. It is realized through the techniques of classification and systematization of interactive forms of teaching. The results of the study may be used in practical teaching of Russian as a foreign language.
