Abstract: International cooperation in the sphere of education stimulated the appearance and development of the programs to teach foreign students technical subjects and natural sciences. The paper discusses the methods of teaching foreign students the language for special purpose in the context of professional education. The system and communicative approach to teaching foreign students productive and receptive speech in the frames of the subject "Foreign Language for Special Purpose II” is discussed. The author describes her experience of formation of professional and communicative competencies in class. Such components as speech, language and subject competencies are important for the formation of the competencies. Different interactive technologies of teaching are studied. They are used by the teachers of Russian as a foreign language in teaching “Foreign Language for Special Purpose II”. Such training takes into account the students’ readiness to work in group and creates the atmosphere of creativity. The role play is one of the most effective pedagogical technologies, the essence of which is activation of logic thinking in Russian of the foreign student, independence of the prospect specialist and training for practical activity. The use of project methodology in teaching foreign language for special purpose determines creativity of the student, which develops different skills.
